What a busy night, the last night of Cub Scouts for two of the boys but also the first night in uniform for another.
It was also time for the last Grey Wolf of the year, it will be many months before we have another one.
You’ll get to put that badge on your Scout uniform for about the next year or so!
We had a few things to complete from our swimming night so we had a discussion about the buddy system, DRSABCD and then the Scouts paired off with the Cubs and showed them how to put somebody in to the recovery position. This was followed by the Cubs demonstrating on their new Scout buddies.
We will be practising this again a few times next year, it’s always good to keep it fresh in our minds.
Obviously by now everyone wanted some fun, so we played a number of 3 legged, wheelbarrow and carrying races with the Scout and Cub Scout pairs.
Then it was time to said goodbye to our two eldest Cub Scouts, and hello to our newest Scouts:
Leaving just enough time to had out badges for the remaining Cubs, these ranged from Cooking, Animals and Birds to Swimming. The 10km hike badges are not in stock at the moment so we will hand those out next year, along with badges for those who brought in completed activities this week.
