With the weekends camp already a distant memory we started the night using the Robots the Scouts had been building the last few weeks.
We have no idea who won the actual ‘war’, but everyone enjoyed having a go.
The robots were then used to show examples of gear and steering, as well as the balancing system they used. We discussed other places we see gears, steering and suspension along with what their purpose is and how they work.
Then on to Sleeping Bag Chariot Race, where the Scouts split in to random groups of 4 and took it in turns to pull one person at a time around a circuit.
The night ended with the older Scouts talking to the new members and those going up from Cub Scouts about Flag protocol, first aid and the use and storage of camp tools:
At the end of the night those who required it were given 1 or 2 tasks to complete at home, the menus for the Pioneer badge and part 2 of the modeller badge. None of these badges can be awarded until the tasks are properly completed and returned, remember there are not many weeks left this year. Next week is the swimming night, Scouts will be covering survival aspects. Please remember forms and payments are required by the 7th November at the latest.
