As Cub Scouts landed on Halloween this year we decided to have some fun, with lots of games and crafts.
We started the night with a monster dance, freeze when the music stops:
Then moving on to eyeball and spoon races
Before making some glowing milk bottle lanterns whilst the craft tables were set up.
We then had crafts of:
Skeletons – Made from Q-tips, card and glue… lots and lot of glue as it turned out!
Felt Monsters and Lantern Bags – precut felt monsters were assembled, then lunch bags had faces drawn on and an LED candle inserted inside.
Bats – made from black card and googly eyes, some excellent crafting by all!
In between, whilst the crafts we setup for the next session, we played:
Ghost Waiter – You have to run in relay style like a waiter with a balloon on a plate.
Wrap the Mummy – each six had to wrap their Sixer up in toilet paper just like a mummy!
Then once everybody had had a go at each craft, and the hall was tidy, it was off outside to have the plates of food brought in my parents and enjoy ‘Twix or Treat’. A version of trick or trick with a lucky dip where you got a fun task to complete and then got either a Twix or Treat.
We certainly got through a lot of activities and crafts tonight, our thanks to the parent helpers and all those that brought in a plate of food.
