Our first game tonight had the Cub Scouts thinking about all the things they learnt last week, and at the Hinze Dam visit over the weekend. A number of questions were read out which were all true or false, if the Cub Scout thought it was true they ran to one end of the hall and if false the other. Anybody who moved when they should not, or went to the wrong end, was out. We had a several cases where the Cub Scouts all got it wrong, so even those that got knocked out got to come back in and play again pretty quickly.

We then carried on with our Water Cycle Circuit from last week, we changed it slightly this week and worked it as a team rather than individuals. Some excellent answers were given and working together we got through in the end.

With that task under our belts we moved on the fridge magnet making, with each Cub Scout getting to create their own design and then turn it in to a fridge magnet with a little help from Eagle (or magic as the Cub Scouts decided the badge machine must be magical).

Lots of great fridge magnets there!

That was not the end of the nights crafting though, as it was now time to make some posters about protecting our wetlands.

Top quality work again!

At this point parents started to arrive to discuss a future Cub Scout outing, so what better thing to do while the adults were talking than play some games?

We started with the old favourite where the Cub Scouts have to run along a course of sticks, placing only 1 step between each stick and making sure not to touch any or you’re out. Slowly the sticks are removed 1 by 1 and the course gets harder and harder, until eventually no Cub Scouts are left.

After a few rounds of this the parents were still talking so we switched over to a rope jump game, Eagle spun the rope around while the Cub Scouts had to jump over it.

Next week we will tie up any final bits from the badge, remember to bring in your water use sheets if you did not already.
