Somehow we have already reach the last night of the term, so the Scouts needed to get most of their patrol activity planning sorted tonight. As usual however we started with a game, with the Scouts needing to circumnavigate the hall without touching the floor.
The two oldest went straight to work, and were the first to finish by quite some margin. Of course it could be argued that perhaps they should have worked as a team with the others…
The girls initially managed to go around in circles, if there was an award for taking the most time to not actually move they would have won! However they soon grasped the task and progressed. As for the other two boys… well… never mind! If there had been about 100 more chairs your plan might have worked.
After this one of our Scouts presented the work she has been doing for her Art badge. She gave us a short talk about the history of watercolour paintings, then showed 6 different techniques used and some examples of art using this methods.
Lastly it was time to discuss the patrol activity. Well done to those who brought in plans from home, including opening times, transport timetables, maps and discount offers. A rough plan for the day was formulated, and 3 dates in August decided upon. Over the holidays one Scout will be contacting all parents about permissions for the trip, and a final date will have to be decided upon at the start of next term.
We didn’t get time to work on the camp craft badge, so that will move over to next term as well. Remember the more you plan at home before coming to Scouts the more time we have in the evening to get the fun stuff done.
We hope you all have a nice rest over the next few weeks, and look forward to seeing everyone again at the start of next term.
