We started the night with a variation of noughts and crosses, only using a 6×7 grid and they had to get 4 in a row. They took it in turn to run down the hall and place their teams marker on the board before running back to tag the next player, this proved a little easy so it soon became 5 and then 6 in a row:

Suitably warmed up we sat down to have a discussion about what the new Scout law and and promise means and how everyone can apply it to their daily lives.

With the Scout Law fresh in their minds they were split in to 2 random groups and each given a copy, which they then torn up in to 30 parts and scattered on the floor… the race was then on to see which team could assemble theirs first.
Sometimes it seems less is more, as the 2 person team completed the task a good 30 seconds ahead of the 3 person team.
Before packing up we had a chat about future patrol activities, everyone was given the task to arrive next week with a patrol activity idea and a plan to start a new badge.
