Scouts landed exactly on Shrove Tuesday this year so what better excuse can there be to start cooking pancakes?
The Scouts needed to select the right equipment, set it up and then follow the direction on the recipe… not 100% sure they followed it exactly, we’ve never had ‘crunchy’ pancakes before!
After the Scouts had cleaned up and packed everything away we did some knots practice, in particular for those coming up to Scouts from Cubs, and then had a discussion about a Ready Steady Cook competition to be held on April 2nd. To make things interesting the Scouts had to choose their equipment, special ingredient and country at random. They ended up with.
- Boys: BBQ, Chinese, Maple Syrup
- Girls: Gas burner, India, Cream
Each team will have a budget of $20 and a time limit of 45 minutes for the main and 30 minutes for the desert, with all preparation to be done on the night!
Points are going to be awarded based on preperation, presentation and taste.
