After parade tonight we had a presentation by one of our Cub Scouts as part of his Sports badge, he gave us a talk on Tennis and Australian Rules Football.

Well done on completing another L2 badge!

Afterwards we had a game of Human Knot, the Cub Scouts split in to their packs and stood in a circle. They then put their hands in to the centre of the circle and took hands with two other people randomly from across the circle, this create the knot. Now without letting go of any hands they had to move about and undo the knot to create a circle again… it’s like a crazy game of Twister!

Amazingly they managed it every time, sometimes with a little creative climbing over each other!

By now it was time for the Gold Boomerangs to help the Silvers and Bronze with a few knots, by the end everyone was able to tie a reef know, clove hitch and sheet bend!

So we made things a little harder, and paired off the Cubs to try doing a reef knot using only one hand each. One Cub could use their right hand, and the other used their left. It was a little tricky at first but once they worked out the aim of the game was co-operation they all managed it.

That was the end of the activities for the night, but not the end of the night…
